Pune: Advocate Anurudra Chavan has been unanimously elected as the President of the Maharashtra Tax Practitioners’ Association (MTPA) for the year 2025-26.
The announcement of Anurudra Chavan’s election was made during the 45th Annual General Meeting held at the Association’s ‘Gyanmandir’ auditorium in Pune.

Adv Dnyaneshwar Narawade has been appointed Vice President, while the executive committee includes prominent professionals such as Adv Kailas Kashid, CMA Navnath Nalwade, Umesh Dangat, Adv Pranav Sheth, CA Yogesh Ingle, Subhash Ghodke, CA Parikshit Aurangabadkar, Milind Hendre, and Neha Nanekar, Ashwini Bidkar and Vinod Rahate have been selected as nominated members.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of former presidents and dignitaries, including Adv Prasad Deshpande, Adv Narendra Sonawane, CMA Shripad Bedarkar, CMA B M Sharma, and others.
Recognizing excellence in the profession, the MTPA Merumani Award was presented to CMA Shripad Bedarkar, and the MTPA Kohinoor Award was conferred upon CMA Prakash Rizwani, Anil Chavan, Santosh Saharm, and Anil Wakharia. CA Milind Kale was honored with the Gratitude Award.

With over 2,000 tax professionals and members, MTPA is recognized nationally for its proactive engagement in guiding tax consultants and Chartered Accountants on evolving tax laws and government initiatives. The association has played a pivotal role in shaping tax advisory practices across Maharashtra and India.

Newly elected President Anurudra Chavan emphasized his commitment to enhancing the association’s role in professional development and public policy advocacy. He aims to strengthen MTPA’s contribution to financial literacy and tax law awareness across urban and rural regions alike.
Outgoing President Adv Prasad Deshpande reflected on a successful term, highlighting initiatives like MoUs with professional bodies, certification programs on GST and income tax, and national conferences including Gyaan Amrit Kumbh. The session was compered by Adv Pranav Sheth and Adv Dnyaneshwar Narawade.
